Title: Pick up your phone
Rating: PG-13
Pairing/s: None. Or none yet, I believe.
Character/s: Merlin, Arthur. Hunnith and Uther mentioned.
Summary: Arthur is not answering his phone, Merlin rambles on trying to find out why.
Warnings: Umm… There’s some drinking? Very vague hint of possible budding alcoholism?
Word Count: ~415
Prompt:# Courtship
Author's Notes: This is mostly just silly. Also lame title is lame.
This was mostly written for a earlier priomt, but not finished.
In my head this is Arthur failing at courtship, and that’s why I think it fits the prompt.
Oh yeah and terribly unbetaed, as usual.

Arthur, Would you pick up your phone, you gigantic clotpole?! )

Dear Hunith, First let me congratulate you on having given birth to the most pig headed but still a delight every day idiot enchanting man I have ever had the pleasure to know.

Merlin and I have been living together for a year and a half now and I think we have been building up to this moment since the first time I pushed him over under the jungle gym at pre-school I have come to realize I cannot live without him. There is so much to love: The white hot sex, his warm smiles and his unending support are just a few things I would like to treasure always.

In short I wish to marry your gorgeous, warm hearted, wonderfully manhandle-able son Merlin and am asking for your blessing. Please say yes.

I will await your response,

Arthur Pendragon, Esq.

Dear Arthur,

I have a feeling you didn’t mean to hit send on this not quite edited enough, hilariously inappropriate, probably written while a bit pissed (I take it Gwaine's bachelor party was fun and put you in this romantic frame of mind) version of what could have been a lovely note about my wonderful son and how much you want to spend the rest of your life with him. It’s just a good thing that I have loved you for years and have known you and Merlin as a couple since nearly the beginning of your acquaintance. I'm not sure if you remember but this is actually the third time you’ve asked for Merlin’s hand. I gave my blessing when you were seven and nine and I give my blessing now.

Yours is a unique relationship that has always involved quite a bit of pigtail pulling and affectionate insults. I have become used to both because I also see how deep your love for one another runs.

I’m looking forward to having you as my son-in-law. I know you and Merlin will be very happy together.

Love, Hunith

P.S. I feel obligated to send a copy of your original letter to Merlin as soon as you propose so if I were you I’d get the appropriate forgive me for drunk emailing your mum gifts ready. Your unfiltered feelings were heartfelt and I know Merlin would love to read them. I'm afraid that even if he's already said yes, knowing him, Merlin is going to demand a bit of groveling before letting this go because of the aforementioned hilariously inappropriate wording.

Welcome to the family.
