Nimueh held a hand over the goblets of wine and thought of calm skies and open meadows, soothing images to clear a mental path for her proposal. Uther and Ygraine’s son had a destiny to fulfill but after eight years of marriage there had only been disappointment. Ygraine despaired ever carrying a child to term.

Nimueh had a solution but the king and queen would need a bit of persuading. The magically enhanced effect of the wine was for the good of Camelot, for the good of Albion.

She placed the goblets on a tray and knocked on Uther’s door.
