Author's Notes: Whee!  Another Immortality is Overrated bit.  I think I love these two almost as much as I love Merwaine.  Anyway, the poem Leon is referring to is Emily Dickinson's 'Because I could not stop for death', published in 1890.  (Personally, I agree with Leon.  Dickinson is, by and large, fucking depressing, but she did write beautifully.)  Leon's book is The Influence of Sea Power upon History, by Alfred Thayer Mahan.  Both books were published in 1890, so that's when this is set.  :D
Question for the mods: Can we make a Leon/Merlin pairing tag?  I think there's everything but that one at this point.  LOL
