There’s no reason why Lance should feel the way he does. Nothing is how he expected. Nothing is right, nothing makes sense.

Gwaine’s irresponsible. He drinks himself stupid the nights after patrol. He doesn’t look after himself let alone anyone else. Lancelot shouldn’t like him, shouldn’t care about him.

Except there’s something noble about Gwaine. When he finds a cause, like he has with Camelot, he will fight to protect what he believes in. He will laugh and joke about it; but Lance has seen his eyes in a fight. He cares.

And so, as it turns out, does Lancelot._­
