Merlin clutches the ring box, weighing the possibilities, not meeting Arthur’s eyes. He studies the ridiculous Our First Christmas ornament Arthur had given him instead.
The red framed photograph, taken at the end of a drinks fueled wrestling match, centers on a Santa hatted Arthur perched on his PA’s chest, blond hair glowing in the light of the company Christmas tree. Merlin is scowling murderously. Less than half an hour later they were snogging in the copy room. Three years gone and here they are.
What's stopping me? Merlin wonders. He hands the box to Arthur.
“There's one more present.”
