Turn Away and Slam the Door


Here I am, in another decrepit castle, the darkness of its abandoned halls seeping into my soul.

Behind an ancient mirror's cobwebs I glimpse who I once was. The beautiful lady in silks. The unforgiving Queen. The witch in a woodland hovel. Those women seem like single-minded strangers now, with limited lives that only ever revolved around Camelot's throne.

I drop the mirror. It shatters on the cold stone floor.

There is a much wider world out there, where my magic may thrive, and Aithusa be healed.

This is me, walking away.

Looking for joy and a new, fulfilling life.
