I just requested 10 myself, and [livejournal.com profile] alby_mangroves has kindly offered 3 if we need them as well.

If you need to ever see where your invites are, you can just go to http://archiveofourown.org/users/yenny2206/invitations methinks.

Do you know how we will link to that collection when we post on AO3? I'm hoping it will be as obvious and painless as everything on AO3 has been.

[identity profile] fuckyeah.livejournal.com 2012-04-07 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
Yep! I posted in the FAQ at the collection itself, but I can repost it here as well:

"If you've never posted to a collection before, AO3 provides this handy tutorial (http://archiveofourown.org/admin_posts/41) that explains the mechanics. As to posting to this specific collection, you wouldn't post to the main collection, but the subcollection depending what prompt your drabble used. For example, if your drabble is based on Prompt #01: Skin (http://camelot-drabble.livejournal.com/2076.html), there's two ways you could submit it:

* Go to the Camelot Drabble -- Prompt #01: Skin subcollection (http://archiveofourown.org/collections/CD_prompt01) and hit the "Post To Collection" button

OR

* When filling or editing a work, under "Associations", you'll see a line called "Post to Collections / Challenges", and you can post the keyword to subcollection in question there. In this case, you would put "CD_prompt01"

Each subsequent subcollection will follow this format, and their keywords will be "CD_prompt02", "CD_prompt3", etc."

Excellent! Thanks so much. Of course, I will wait until tomorrow to post it there:D

Actually, while you can post to this community after signups closed, we ask that you don't post elsewhere (including the AO3 collection) until the master list is posted on Thursday. I think it's to to sort of keep it in the community before sharing it with the rest of the world, I'm not exactly sure. *newbie mod*

Aww! But is that the right reason, the one I listed? Or am I missing it completely?

[identity profile] jelazakazone.livejournal.com 2012-04-07 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
I can link to it from my LJ when they post, right?

Thanks for all the clarifications. I love drabbles:D

[identity profile] icecream-junkie.livejournal.com 2012-04-07 08:16 am (UTC)(link)
Is it strictly one entry per prompt? Because I just wrote my second drabble for the prompt skin and now I don't know which to choose. *headdesk*

[identity profile] fuckyeah.livejournal.com 2012-04-07 11:17 am (UTC)(link)
Ha, I asked this earlier because I was having the same problem. You can have more than one submission for a prompt, just post them in separate entries was what we decided on.

[identity profile] fuckyeah.livejournal.com 2012-04-07 11:20 am (UTC)(link)
Like, you mean link to your entry here in the community on your LJ?
Because I see no problem with that.

Sorry for the confusion; this is what I get for fending off questions after just waking up.

Yes. That's what I meant.

Oooh, I have another question. When it's ok to post to the AO3 collection, will you guys post to the comm with a link for the sub collection?

[identity profile] asya-ana.livejournal.com 2012-04-07 02:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I love the AO3 community idea!

Just wondering, since I'd probably prefer to post any of the drabbles as "chapters" in one "story"/"series" on AO3 so as not to clog up my account with tiny stories, could the AO3 comm have a sub-section for authors in addition to the weekly subsections? Or is there a better way to handle this scenario?

xox

Good point! I'll check this out once I get home. *is currently in her work's breakroom flailing at all the submissions so far*

[identity profile] fuckyeah.livejournal.com 2012-04-07 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, what I've discovered is that you can link one piece of work to multiple subcollections. So what I propose is this: say you have something where one chapter is based on "Prompt#01: Skin", and another chapter is based on "Prompt#02: [Whatever the next prompt will be]". Then, under "Associations" then "Post to Collections / Challenges", you would put, "CD_prompt01, CD_prompt02," and they should automatically link to each collection.

Then, if you could under each chapter summary, put what prompt that particular chapter is written for ("This was written for Camelot Drabble--Prompt#1: Skin" or something like that) so people know which chapter has the prompt they're interested in reading.

Does this work for you, or would you still rather want a separate author's subcollection?

Sounds ok! This seems like it will work. We'll see how it goes ;) Thanks for researching this! xox

oops! the welcome note has a spelling error in it:
...to the first drabble coomunity for BBC's Merlin series. This community is for both writers and artists.

hey! idk if this is the place to say this, but w/e- I just thought I'd say that I think this community is really kind of fabulous :') I'm pretty sure I've looked at most of the entries and idk... there's already a sense of togetherness from the people who signed up and commented and *flails* I just think you mods have got a great thing going on here :)

Posting related Drawble/Drabble together

[identity profile] alby-mangroves.livejournal.com 2012-04-10 01:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Dear Mods, what's the policy on posting a drawble and drabble together in one post if they are related? I wrote and drew, but posted separately as I wasn't sure about the preference. It's not likely to happen a lot, I guess, but when it does, perhaps a rule is required?

[identity profile] inspired-being.livejournal.com 2012-04-17 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
hi mods :)

I noticed you haven't got a full list of characters and pairing in the tags yet. I just posted a story with characters that didn't already have tags and didn't want to create any without permission, especially since one was gwen wasn't sure whether you'd want to use her full name or not.

So, what's the deal with adding new character and pairing tags?
And do you just add tags for characters/pairings focused on in the story or every one that appears?
