Title: Coming Home
Rating: G
Pairing/s: None
Character/s: Merlin, Arthur
Warnings: None
Word Count: 100
Prompt: 114, Hiraeth
There was always a sense of vague disquiet in Merlin, like he’d forgotten something important. Someone’s name on the tip of his tongue. A yearning to return to somewhere long vanished.
He lived life with this sense of loss for years. Until he opened the door to Suite 117 at Camelot University and laid eyes on a blond boy eating toast over the sink.
The boy swallowed and grinned a bit maniacally, crumbs stuck in wonky teeth. “Hey, I’m Arthur,” he greeted.
“I know,” Merlin whispered as a lifetime a thousand years past flooded the empty spaces in his heart.
