Balter

It was summer, and Merlin was going to be young for a while. It was what he did, how he got by.

He had the run of the festivals, because tickets were easy when you had magic. Anything he wanted was easy to get - drink, drugs... Well, almost anything.

He could feel it taking effect, coursing through his veins. He pushed his way into the throng, as close to the band as he could get.

The music was loud and the drug was heady. He danced mindlessly, and just for a while he could forget he'd ever lost anyone.

Oh dear! Poor Merlin. He doesn't need to take drugs to enjoy a festival! Alcohol is nice though. I like a bit of balter!

He does! He's amazingly old and still missing his king! Drugs are an excellent escape - it's not like they're going to kill him :-)
