This is one of the harshest winters in his land’s long history. The first freeze came early and unrelenting snow soon followed. There is no end in sight. Patrols return from the further reaches reporting of villages suffering shortages. People who have contributed to their prosperity are on the verge of starvation.

Arthur is focused, poring over grain holdings, trying to devise a safe strategy to share with those less fortunate. In the unrelenting snow and ice, the logistics of getting supplies where they’re needed most will be tricky.

Unless…

“Merlin, would your dragon be amenable to making some deliveries?”

He will be aghast and huffy (there will be balking and a lot of I cannot believe you would use my might and your powers such, young warlocks), but the people will be fed and that's really the important part.

Kilgarrah will never get used to these "menial" tasks but they're part and parcel of ruling Albion :D
