Author's Notes: So then I got thinking about Gordian knots. Which was a bad idea. But this is the last one! I think my brain's making up for the fact that I start work tomorrow...



Sometimes a knot is so tangled that there’s nothing for it. You have to cut through it.

They had both still been young when Arthur had realised this. Morgana’s necklaces in her jewellery box had twisted together, so tight that they had to be cut apart to salvage them. She’d cried, but there had been no other option.

And now, facing each other through a web of emotion, guilt and despair and love all knotted so tight they were hard to distinguish, Arthur knew that that was what they had to do. To get each other back, they’d have to rip apart the strings of destinies and beliefs and wishes that held them apart, no matter how it hurts them to confront them all. Because they need each other. Everything else is secondary. Everything else can be destroyed. Everything else can be allowed to destroy them, because it’s worth the price to tie brother and sister together once more.
