Title: Betrayal
Rating: G
Pairing/s: None
Character/s: Arthur, Gaius, Merlin
Warnings: OOC Merlin
Word Count: 100
Prompt:
Author's Notes: Merlin has every right to be angry.
One sharp rap on Gaius’s chamber door before Arthur enters without invitation. Merlin doesn’t rise from his seat by Gaius’s bed, protective hand on the physican’s arm.
“I owe both of you an apology,” the King says without preamble.
“You do,” Merlin answers. “Gaius could have died.”
“Merlin,” Gaius warns weakly but Merlin is having none of it.
“You have known Gaius all your life. Known me for years. We’ve proved our loyalty to you and Camelot,” he continues, glaring.
“I apologize for thinking you’d betray me,” Arthur says.
“Apology not accepted,” Merlin answers curtly, turning away from the King.
