Artist’s Notes: Sketchiness! I don't like this as much as I want to. I don't like drawing profiles as it is and I didn't really have the motivation to do my usual style, so I left it sketchy and played with a slightly desaturated way of colouring, and I'm not sure it quite looks like Merlin or Arthur, but oh well. Also, I hate drawing hands and usually put actual time into them but because it's a sketch I didn't. Tell me what you think! :)

Author's Notes: Just a quick explanation of what's going on in the picture!

The summer’s arrived in early in England, July heat instead of April showers. The ice cream vans are out in full force when Merlin and Arthur walk through the park, only just really together, feeling like the sun shines for them and them alone.

“Ice cream!” Merlin almost squeals, making a bee-line for a van.

“Merlin, it’ll just be that disgusting stuff they squeeze from a tube, you don’t want that.” Arthur all but glares at the van and the crowd of children around it.

“Don’t be such a snob,” Merlin tells him, laughing, “And anyway, I know this guy. He only sells the proper stuff.”

Arthur makes a noise that sounds frighteningly like I’ll believe that when I see it, but Merlin just orders a mint chocolate chip ice cream. Arthur somehow sneaks paying for it past him, for which he’s alternately glared and smiled at, and Merlin takes the first lick. His eyes slip shut, and he smiles.

Then he holds it out to Arthur.

“Try some. So you can be completely sure that I’m right.”

Arthur rolls his eyes, then he smiles, predatory, looks Merlin straight in the eye, and licks the ice cream. His tongue flicks out, mouth wide, and he sweeps the tip of it across the ice cream. Merlin just swallows, half smiling at Arthur’s cunning plan and the prospect of what’s to come.

“My place is nearer.”

Actually, you did an AWESOME job! For everything you say you don't like about this, I love the sketchiness, and the cheeky glint in Merlin's eye, and the whole thing overall is very playful and MOST DEFINITELY recognizable as them. Well done and thank you! <3

Haha, I think my writing and ice cream have a bit of a thing going on... Galahad drowns his sorrows in ice cream in my head, I'm seriously starting to worry about this... Maybe I should just go buy some ice cream :P
